I contacted the Olshan office in Little Rock on April 1st 2015. The person I spoke to was very courteous on the phone, and prompt with her required subsequent communications. They set me up an appointment on April 15th with a technician whose last name was Pass. My dealings with Mr. Pass were excellent. He was very honest and straight forward with me, and explained what was causing the cracks I was concerned about. He explained that I did not need any foundation repair, and also explained (at my request) some things that could be done to correct some flooring issues I was having.
I try to recommend the best solution for all my clients. This was a letter that I sent to my client today. All this came to light when I called Olshan to come out and give my client an estimate on correcting the foundation. I called and the person answering the phone said it would be 4/15 before they could come out (10 minute drive from downtown Little Rock). I'm a real estate broker and said that the closing on the house was scheduled for 4/1/2015 (this call took place on 3/12/2015). The person answering the phone was very rude and gave me the name of their competitor to call. I did call their competitor and they gladly scheduled a time to come out on 3/16/2015. I recommended Olshan to my client because I was comforted in the fact I had a lifetime warranty on the house I bought a year ago. I even sent my client a copy of the warranty. Much to my surprise, the lady answering the phone told me my warranty was useless because I didn't have it transferred over to me within 90 days of my purchase (which is the first i'd heard of this). The warranty certificate states that it is a lifetime warranty for the property owner of the residence I purchased. I asked that the General Manager call me. I received a call from him today and he said I had no business being upset with Olshan and that I should take up the issue with the previous owner for not telling me. Even though the previous owner spent over $20,000 to have the foundation repaired, they said they would not honor the warranty. I will do my very best to share this story with my colleagues in the real estate business, my clients, friends and neighbors
The representative was very professional, thoroughly inspecting interior, exterior and underneath. He explained that my home is actually supported by piers rather than the visible rock and brick and that there was very minimal movement in the supports. Bottom line, he advised that I need not do anything. He spent some time explaining how I might identify problems in the future. I was very impressed with his knowledge, honesty and integrity. I would not hesitate to call in the future and to recommend the company to others.
Worked at it until fixed. Olshan came out to work on fixing a leak in my garage by putting a new drainage system on the side of my house. They also put a sump pump in my crawl space. When that didn't work they came out to my house again a couple of times and adjusted things, made them deeper until it was completely fixed all off of the original agreed price. Very hardworking and professional & would recommend.
My personal experience (a letter of apology to my client):
There was no pressure sales pitch, just up-front, honest, professional customer service. Based on my dealings with them today, I would not hesitate to recommend this Olshan office (and especially their technician Mr. Pass) to anyone I know in need of possible foundation repair.
The Seller of my house gave me a brochure along with the attached certificate that I sent you Wednesday. As it turns out, Olshan is not honoring the lifetime warranty I mistakenly thought I had. They sent me a copy of the contract they signed with the previous owner of my home. Even though the previous owner paid over $20,000 to have an Olshan installation, the copy of the contract sent said the warranty would have to transferred within 90 days of the home changing ownership. I would not recommend Olshan and discourage any of my clients, colleagues, friends or neighbors from using this company. Even though the attached certificate says that the property owners will have lifetime support if any adjustments are necessary, it is conditional. I haven't had any issues with my house but I was alarmed to find out they conduct their business in this manner. They obviously don't understand the value of keeping the customer happy and the loss of goodwill as I share my experience with others. Sorry to have misled you."
Unbelievable service!!! Waaaay beyond my expectations. The crew was considerate in each endeavor they pursued. I left the house midway during the work and upon my return I could not tell they had been there. There was no evidence of the 5 foot holes they dug in the unforgiving, rocky soil. The team put everything back in place including replanting a tree. Get this.....they even watered the tree after replanting it!!!! The workers were men and they took the time to water the replanted tree! Every rock and pebble were put in it's proper spot. I am amazed at the politeness and work ethic of the team. I will recommend Olshan to anyone I know of that is in need of their service.
I’m a Realtor and deal with foundation issues all the time in Central Arkansas. Sold a home last week where Foundation Pro had done $17,000 worth of work on a slab for Owner A which included installation of piers to stabilize. The lifetime warranty was not transferred to Owner B because their Terms and Conditions of the contract (small print) stated that it had to done with a minimal charge within 90 days. My client (soon to be Owner C) was told there was a lifetime warranty from Foundation Pro. Because of my recent experience with Olshan, I knew my client was in trouble. We called Foundation Pro and spoke with a lady (Linda) who confirmed that the lifetime warranty had not been transferred. However, she told us if the current Seller (Owner B) would just pay the warranty transfer fee, they would gladly reinstate the warranty and allow Owner B to transfer the lifetime warranty to the Buyer (my client, Owner C). NOW THIS IS HOW IT’S SUPPOSED TO BE DONE! What I describe below is my personal experience with Olshan here in Central Arkansas. As a Realtor involved in the sale of many homes in Central Arkansas, I go out of my way to share my experience with others and will NEVER recommend Olshan but DISCOURAGE anyone from utilizing Olshan because of the way they’ve handled my personal home. Foundation Pro DID THE RIGHT THING!”
I am very pleased with the level of customer service I received from Olshan.
