The lack of professionalism and lack of care for the clients at this Travel Agency is unreal. Especially being in a dying industry, you would think that they would be as helpful as they can to the few clients that they have left. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy.
Just back from vacation...we let Poe Travel pick the hotels and itinerary. Everything was beyond amazing. They were extremely helpful, attentive, professional and FUN to work with. Can't wait to use them again!
I cannot describe the level of disappointment that this agency brought myself and my group of six. While travelling to Germany for a business trip, we used Poe Travel from recommendation from our organization. Carla was our travel agent, and was impossible to get in touch with during the planning stages, only giving us our hotel information a little more than a week before leaving and making planning our events very difficult. They offered no additional insights or support on the trip, forcing us to figure out our own transportation, sites to see, and failing to offer us travel insurance and failing to give us insurance even upon request. Many emails went unanswered completely, and all emails went unanswered for at least a few days.
This agency is awesome! They recently helped us out with a large group trip to Nashville, arranging lodging, dining and entertainment, and everything went off without a hitch. I highly recommend them.
Finally, after calling Carla and having a short but stern conversation about my disappointment in her group, Carla stopped talking to our group completely. She elevated our case to her boss, Margaret, who was mildly more helpful. Our bags were returned 2 days before coming home. However, when half of my group experienced flight cancellations while in a foreign country on the way home, Margaret told them to "figure it out" themselves as she was busy with her weekend.
When our trip took turns for the worse, with flights being cancelled and luggage being lost for 7 days out of a 10 day trip. Carla and Poe Travel Agency were completely unreachable. In an emergency situation, a travel agent should help their clients get to their destination and help them to find their luggage, that is the whole point of hiring a travel agency. Instead, we were abandoned in the Atlanta airport for 12 hours, unable to reach anyone at the travel agency and spent hours on the phone with airlines figuring out our own re-bookings. While I do not blame Carla or Poe travel for the weather and technical issues of the airlines, it is her job to ensure that we are taken care of and at ease and use their contacts to ensure we arrive safely and with our luggage.
My family has worked with Poe for over 20 years. They have helped us with travel both in the U.S. and abroad and always done a spectacular job. Thank you Poe team!
Since returning home, there has been no effort to help any of us seek reimbursements, upgrades, miles, or anything for our horrific travel experiences. They basically booked our flights, which any person can get online to do, booked us horrible hotels, and stole our money.
Good folks to work with, I have been on several group trips organized by Poe Travel, all were very well planned and their staff was attentive to our needs.
Upon arrival in Germany, with no one in my professional group receiving their luggage, Carla offered no assistance. All information she provided was outdated and incorrect, and it took her hours and sometimes days to answer our requests. She made herself completely unavailable outside of the M-F 9-5 CST hours of her office, which makes no sense when you have clients experiencing crises abroad. All of my group spent their entire trip on the phone with the airlines trying to receive their luggage, instead of enjoying their time on the trip and engaging in the professional development events that we had lined up.
