The neighborhood seems really nice. Mylo is situated in the middle of the "high street" if you are familiar with that term. The shop is long and narrow with a full wall of windows looking out to the street.
I’ve been going here for a while and really like the spot! The employees are always super friendly and accommodating. They are probably the highlight of this place, in addition to the great atmosphere and amazing food. A couple of things I found very disappointing (the reason for 2 * review) is no refills on regular batch coffee and really slow and unreliable Internet connection. The refills could be 50 cents or a dollar, but paying $3 for each cup when I need at least 3 to feel satisfied is a huge deterrent for me to come there. Wouldn’t be nice to create an offer one cannot turn down, and cash in on people spend extra money on snacks, while working on their laptops? :) The revenue is lost when people don’t want to make the effort to come in and spend money on food, being uncertain whether they’ll be able to go online. I hope they will take these friendly suggestions seriously and get the issues with free batch coffee refills and poor connection addressed soon. I’ll be glad to update my review to a 5-star, when those things get resolved.
Baked goods were really good. Try the Hen in a nest if you are really hungry - it is a great mix of flavors with an egg in the bottom. Croissant was also very good.
Coffee is roasted locally and Coffee options are standard for higher end coffee shop. Both drip and pour-over options available if you prefer that to milk based drinks. Prices are higher than I expected: 6 oz Capp is over 4$. (For comparison, I can get a great 8oz latte for 3$ in Denver)
I'm a fan. The coffees themselves are the stars at Mylo. In particular, there are usually 4-5 coffees available - one brewed in large batch, and a few others for cone filter pour-overs. If you have the time, a pour-over is a great way to have a cup of coffee. The espresso is solid, and cappuccinos are of good quality. Baked goods are well thought-out and superbly executed. Probably 2% of my body weight can be traced to their banana/chocolate chip muffins.
It's an okay coffee shop. Nice atmosphere, good coffee. I would give it five star but it's hindered by river city being near by (which I prefer). The only reason for that preference is that mylos has a limited (albeit tasty) selection of coffee. Still highly recommend if you want a good cup of coffee while you read or work.
The best espresso and slow bar in Little Rock. They manage to maintain quality despite the high volume of mostly college students and local professionals. The shop is comfortable and well lit, and good to either socialize or get a little work or reading done. I haven't tried the food but it smells fantastic. The staff is friendly and helpful. Everything you'd want in a coffee shop, with some of the best coffee in Arkansas. The only equal in the region is Red Light in Hot Springs, if you like that you'll like this place and vice versa.
Good coffee, great pastries, nice atmosphere.
