Beautiful view of the river from our patio. Nice, clean, comfortable room. The Hilton honors room has complimentary snacks and drinks 24/7 and breakfast every morning. Staff was friendly. No valet parking, but it's not too far to the garage. Over all good experience.
Dirty sheets, rude receptionist, and creepy cleaning man. I was incredibly excited about my stay here, but was highly disappointed by the night staff and the cleaning crew.
Really disappointed at the quality of this hotel. I attended a 3 days Center for exceptional children Conference in October 2017. Only two elevators work. The carpet in our room smell like mildew. You can tell it had not been cleaned in a very long time. Also the conference provided us with coffee and water. The lines were so long that I went downstairs to get the same cup of coffee and was charged $2 for the same cup of coffee on the first floor that was being offered for free on the second floor. The people at the front desk were not friendly. You would expect exceptional customer service at a Hotel like this.
The only reason I didn't give this hotel a 1 star review is because the other receptionists I dealt with upon checkout were very cordial, and I've had relatively positive experiences with Doubletree before. I ended up going across town to find a place that felt less...creepy to stay at.
Very classy place. Great attentive employees. Building needs some upgrades starting with the curbside drainage system that a handicap person will trip on, to the tiny elevators that are death traps to people in wheel chairs and walkers. Overall, the handicap accommodations here are terrible.
Great location - my room had a view of the river. Staff were incredible. Especially the gentleman at the front desk and Ron the shuttle driver. They went way above and beyond and it's worth staying here for that reason alone. Good location in the city. Room was clean, but slightly smaller than I would expect. Not a biggie, still had everything I needed. Breakfast was great. Shower water temp fluctuated a little, but again that's just splitting hairs. It was a wonderful stay and I would HIGHLY recommend.
The night receptionist hung up on me twice because she didn't want to answer my question, and the morning receptionist was very rude when I called to ask about the electric drill being used outside of my room at 7 a.m. There was a gross brown stain on my bedsheets, and the water took TEN minutes to heat up (I arrived very late, and didn't want to switch rooms, so I was patient). But the worst of it all was the extremely creepy cleaning man. I was in town for a conference so I was dressed in an appropriate knee length, form fitting dress with a mock turtle neck, black stockings and some fashion boots. Upon exiting my room, this house keeper was standing in the doorway of another room, speaking to a female house keeper, but turned towards me. He very clearly looked me up and down, then made a comment about how I must have had a "good" night and proceeded to watch me walk all the way to the elevator. It was just incredibly creepy and not something you'd expect from hotel STAFF. Random public person, sure. It happens. But a hotel employee should never make a guest feel uncomfortable in that way.
